Dental implant is an innovate prosthesis which includes a titanium root form fixture that can be placed into the alveolar bone and an overlying porcelain crown that functions just like our natural teeth(Figure 1). Implant teeth are durable and have natural appearance in most of the cases(Figure 2). Besides, placing implants can avoid grinding adjacent teeth, which is what we usually do when we are making traditional crowns and bridges

In some cases there might be defects around edentulous areas and that makes the sites not suitable for receiving dental implant treatments. GBR (Guided Bone Regeneration) procedures usually can solve this problem and together with periodontal plastic surgeries (Figure 3) we can also try to achieve the optimal esthetic results.
